About Us
The Goshute Housing Authority was formed to improve the quality of life for our CTGR Tribal Members and to strive to provide homes in an affordable, safe, and healthy environment for families within our Tribal membership. Our goal is to cultivate affordable housing while empowering our community. We have not had new units built since 1999; our goal is to provide more housing units on the CTGR reservation, and to continue to maintain the homes we already have.
In 1997, the CTGR’s Business Council established the Goshute Housing Authority. Our Housing Staff consists of a seven person staff plus a five-member Board of Directors who are appointed by the Goshute Business Council. The Board of Directors provide general oversight and community development in the housing activities. The Goshute Housing Authority was created under the laws of the State of Utah and certified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The purpose of the Authority is to administer the Indian Housing Block Grant program under the Native American Housing and Self Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA). NAHASDA recognizes the system of Federal housing assistance to Native Americans by eliminating several separate programs of assistance and replacing them with a single block grant program.
