About Us

The Goshute Housing Authority was formed to improve the quality of life for our CTGR Tribal Members and to strive to provide homes in an affordable, safe, and healthy environment for families within our Tribal membership. Our goal is to cultivate affordable housing while empowering our communityWe have not had new units built since 1999; our goal is to provide more housing units on the CTGR reservation, and to continue to maintain the homes we already have 

In 1997, the CTGR’s Business Council established the Goshute Housing Authority. Our Housing Staff consists of a seven person staff plus a five-member Board of Directors who are appointed by the Goshute Business Council. The Board of Directors provide general oversight and community development in the housing activities. The Goshute Housing Authority was created under the laws of the State of Utah and certified by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The purpose of the Authority is to administer the Indian Housing Block Grant program under the Native American Housing and Self Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA). NAHASDA recognizes the system of Federal housing assistance to Native Americans by eliminating several separate programs of assistance and replacing them with a single block grant program.

The GHA currently has 27 residential units consisting of 6 one-bedroom apartment units, 7 two-bedroom units, 9 three-bedroom and 4 four-bedroom units, these units are maintained by the GHA Maintenance
 
The GHA has a Maintenance Work Agreement with the Goshute Business Council to conduct maintenance and minor repairs for the Tribal Elder’s homes located within the Goshute Indian Reservation and will provide maintenance and snow plowing and minor repairs at the Tribal Headquarters, Health Trailer, and Child Development Center.
 
Current projects include Cement parking strip for the Administration and Apartments, new playground and outdoor exercise equipment. New projects are still being planned for 2025.
